3 Ingredient Crockpot Chicken Tacos

Hello Pinterest Friends,

It is back to school time for many of you which means adjusting back into the school routine.  I thought it would be helpful to the back to schoolers (and all busy ladies out there) to try this 3 ingredient crockpot chicken tacos Pinterest recipe.  I love crockpot recipes which only require you to open up items and throw them into the crockpot- it doesn’t get in easier!

Here are the 3 ingredients- 6 chicken breasts, taco seasoning pack and a 16-oz jar of salsa (i used mild):

Dump all the ingredients into the crockpot and stir

Cool on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.  I cooked it on low for 8 hours.

Once the chicken was finished cooking, I shredded it for the tacos.  I did a bar of toppings for the tacos- shredded lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and tortillas.  They came out delicious!  The chicken got rave reviews from my husband (who is very picky about chicken) and the kiddos.

I made this recipe as stated with 6 chicken breasts which makes a lot of chicken.  I brought half of it to my neighbors who just had their second baby.  I tried another Pinterest pin and printed out these cute cooking instructions: (they come in different colors and sayings- I love free Printables!)

My neighbors also loved the chicken tacos (maybe they are just sleep deprived and happy to have a meal)  however, she did ask for the recipe.  I was a little embarrassed to tell her how easy it was but they were so yummy it didn’t matter.

  1. I have seen this as well as one with Italian dressing, cumin, chili powder and a pack of ranch seasoning. Amazing!!! They both seem to make a ton of chicken! I wonder if you could freeze it ……

  2. Do you have to defrost the chicken first? Or did you just toss in frozen breasts? The easier the better! Thanks for you reviews!!

    • I would defrost them first- the chicken seems to cook better. Hope you enjoy the recipe!

    • This is so cool. I’ve wondered if it was true, too. Next time I don’t have brihtday candles I have to try this (or maybe even if I do have brihtday candles). I ALWAYS have crayons.
